Had a very pleasant surprise today when a good friend of mine from uni (Amiee Groundwater) saw some of our group's work published in the latest magazine issue of Architecture Victoria!

This project was completed during the second phase of our final semester before we split off into our individual areas, which you can view on my projects page and also on the class website.

Computational Design by Kai Zhu

For the past few months I have been learning Grasshopper in my spare time. I am fascinated by the potentials of computational design and how the industry is rapidly approaching towards BIM (building information modelling). Now I'm just itching to apply what I've learnt onto a real project.

Here is an example of a fully parametric paneled surface I created whilst in Grasshopper.

Teaching at Monash by Kai Zhu

Very proud of my first years who have just completed their first Semester of architecture school. This has also been a learning experience for myself teaching for the first time as an associate tutor. It has been an incredibly rewarding experience seeing my students improve their skills with my guidance and I look forward to seeing them progress throughout the rest of the course!
